Painting was my first love

It’s truly how I’m wired. No matter what is in front of me, I have always naturally seen the world in terms of colors, shapes, and composition. For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt an innate, compulsive desire to create. Art is my ultimate outlet—a way for me to work through, express, and understand the everyday emotions and feelings we all experience. Through my paintings, I am able to build my own lens to see the world, and I invite others to look through it with me.

Once I start, I can’t stop

I operate in a never-ending cycle of pondering, planning, starting, creating, completing, and immediately starting anew—the ideas simply never stop. There is a distinct rapture I experience when I am deep in a piece, discovering what belongs where, which colors to incorporate, and where to build texture. It is a soul-filling process of orchestrating these moving parts until they click. For me, art is an unstoppable urge, a compulsive outlet to work through my emotions, and the ultimate lens through which I understand the world.

There are so many beautiful things in this world. I fear that with the increasing pace of life we are going to unknowingly miss them. I look for the uniqueness, color, humor, honesty, grace, humanity, and life in all of them. Art has the power to change you and make you see the world differently. This is my outlet to process my own everyday emotions, and in doing so, create a brand new lens to view reality.
